These girls amaze me everyday, but I was especially proud of them tonight as they shared their projects for Personal Progress. What wonderful examples! TJ talked about her feelings about completing the Personal Progress program and what it has meant for her life. B shared how she read the Book of Mormon in 8 days and the impact that had on her testimony. Amazing, girls!

First real snow fall here for the season, and it wasn't much of one. But I always love how fresh and clean everything looks after a dusting of snow.

I helped the Beehive class in YW enter in stories from an ancestor in to the Family Search program and after, B and I found a new name that was ready for taking to the temple. A wonderful evening!

Lyndon puts so much effort into his seminary classes. Today was a game of jeopardy - a big hit!

A successful event in Calgary where Andrew Allen performed and Tiffany and Casey came out to support Lyndon. It touched our hearts that they came - we have the most amazing family.

Another event - this time in Medicine Hat. Andrew Allen performed and spoke and lots of money was raised for Canadian Humanitarian. Most successful fundraiser for them in our city ever. Way to go! TJ and B came to help volunteer - we couldn't have done it without you!

Gave in to my Christmas-y urges and decorated tonight. I know - it's not even December, but I have no regrets! I love seeing those lights twinkling and all of that red and green. Bring on the Christmas season!

October 3, 2015 - Historic day! Three new apostles were called to fill the vacancies left by the ones who recently passed.

October 7, 2015 - Lyndon and Deb at the Medalta potteries promoting the upcoming Canadian Humanitaria fundraising event happening there.

October 9, 2015 - A gorgeous sunset on our drive to Calgary for the weekend.


October 10, 2015 - a day at the zoo with cousins. It's always a good time when we get together with family.

October 12, 2015 - Last day at Calaway Park for the season. Uncle Blaine and uncle Brian gave the kids some money to play some games where they all worked together to win these fun prizes. 


October 13, 2015 - Another proud mommy moment with B! She was awarded two certificates of honors and a trophy for her involvement with volunteer work with her school - this was for her previous year of schooling at her junior high school. Amazing!


October 14, 2015 - B is a born performer. She was totally convincing in her role in the school production of "The Giver". I loved every second.


October 15, 2015 - yeah, I have the cutest little dog around.


October 16, 2015 - Today is the day! I'm off to Ethiopia!


October 17, 2015 - arrived in Addis, exhausted and ready to start the adventure!


October 18, 2015 - spent the day unpacking, getting cash changed to local currency, and prepping the house for a training meeting the next day with the CH employees.


October 19, 2015 - visited our first center and helped with physicals and individual photos.


October 20, 2015 - Toured the SSCM program where they train older youth and young adults who need vocational training because they didn't get good enough grades in the scholastic programs. amazing work!


October 21, 2015 - helped teach a group of girls and women about feminine hygiene and handed out reusable hygiene packets for each of them. You really take for granted how much we know and have access to in the westernized world.


October 22, 2025 - one of many home visits. These people have so little but welcome us into their tiny homes and share what they have with us.


October 23, 2015 - Visited a small village a few hours outside of Addis and fell in love with the kids there.


October 24, 2015 - Second day in the small village of Halecu and taught the kids there how to brush their teeth.


October 25, 2015 - Left Halecu and traveled back to Addis to host a dinner for the Scholarship students. The Ethiopian countryside is so beautiful.


October 26, 2015 - the kids in the programs know how to work and do their part, without complaint.


October 27, 2015  - we enjoyed traditional Ethiopian cuisine a few times during our stay. I love it.


October 28, 2015-  Visited one of the largest open air markets in the world and it was crazy! I stayed in the vehicle the entire time


October 29, 2015 - The kids at the Kirkos performed a program for us, including some traditional dancing. They are so talented and full of life. 


October 30, 2015 - last full day in Ethiopia ended with a birthday party out at the Kality center. These kids are joy personified.

 October 31, 2015 - made it home just in time to see these kiddos off trick or treating with their cousin! It was great to be home and see these faces again.
